Make Up Sale - Hamilton

OMG! The Make up sale is in Hamilton!

Up to 80% off of a lot of super good brands!!

- O.P.I
- Revlon
- Loreal
- Maybelline
- Cover Girl
- CK

If your in Hamilton or near its Wednesday to till Saturday 3rd - 9am till 6pm

Its mayhem and quite messy people are testing products and then just dumping them back down with their lids off and then a lot of the other products look gross because of it, but if you have the time you can rummage through it all and find some good bargains! It is also mayhem due to the amount of people there and surprisingly a lot of teenage girls during school hours tsk tsk!   =)

There was soooo much I wanted but I only had about 30 dollars to spare so I limited it to what I need - which is such a shame
.
I really wanted the Katy Perry perfume and some nail polishes because they were so cheap but instead I got two foundations and a mascara (stick to my basics).

The first foundation I got was - Revlon Colorstay Mineral Mousse - $12.00

This foundation is nice and creamy and is quite thick, which is generally what I look for because I am not really a fan of the low coverage (I have lots of freckles so I usually go for something with high coverage to blend my skin tone out). It has a nice little nozzle on it so I can apply it super easy and for that price who can complain!?!

The other foundation I bought was the - Loreal Visable Lift with extra coverage - $14.00
This one is a lot runnier than the colorstay but it blends out very nice from what I swatched on the back of my hand
I made the mistake of picking one out that looked clean but I didn't take the lid off, so when I got home I learnt it had been used.
I am not entirely sure how much but it was quite dirty - however again it was only $14.00 so a really good bargain.
The nozzle on this one is the same as the colorstay so again really good for applying, limits the mess I could possibly make (which is always a bonus because I'm super clumsy)

Finally I grabbed a mascara I got the - Maybelline Colossal Volume Express limited edition Diamonds for $10.00
I have used this before and I find I am always going back to Maybelline, I'm a bit of a packaging sucker!
They are so pretty and they apply so nice - I have really like eyelashes but they are so blonde they don't exist, so I need a mascara that doesn't clump up to soon or else my eyes start to look a bit like a child did them and Maybelline always does the job so I can not fault their mascaras.

All in all another fabulous day!
I am going out with my best friend for dinner tonight to cheer her up so now to have a little fun with my make up!

Oh and for those interested I finally painted my nails with the LA Colors Jewel Tone with a purple base, I used the BYS Ultra Violet and this is how they turned out.
I like them at night (I know that's weird) just because in the day I feel kind of like I'm 13 and I have painted my nails for the school disco, at night it just seems to suit the mood more!

P.S - I needed the Red Bull after that hectic shopping experience!

Until next time!

New NYX + Wet N Wild Make - Up

Today I received a package from nonpareilboutique. I was super happy with how fast it got here, it only took a week, however it also took a week for them to process and ship my products. All up 2 weeks is pretty good from the US to New Zealand.

I ordered two NYX Cream Blushes, 4 NYX Round Lipsticks and 2 Wet N Wild Dream Waver Trio Eyeshadow Palettes.

NYX Cream Blush

The blushes I got are Orange and Boho Chic. They are super creamy and once I have removed my make up from today I will do a review on these.

NYX Round Lipsticks

Review:

Packaging: 3/5
Pigmentation: 5/5
Longevity: 5/5

Overall: 13/15

As far as packaging goes it is really basic, I gave it a 3/5 as this is probably more so because they are so cheap and in order to cut down their costs I imagine their packaging is kept minimal

Pigmentation is excellent. I gave it 5/5 because I personally think its great. All of the lipsticks give off a huge amount of colour (depending on application).

Longevity is amazing too! 5/5 as I usually apply it before going out and it is still one when I get home. Even the swatches on my hand take a few washes to get rid of. If if does rub off through natural wear and tear throughout the day the product still leaves a nice lip stain.

The four round lipsticks I chose were Narcissus, Tea Rose, Strawberry Milk and Fig.
Left to right - Narcissus, Tea Rose, Strawberry Milk and Fig (no flash)

Left to right - Narcissus, Tea Rose, Strawberry Milk and Fig (with flash)

Narcissus - This is a bright barbie pink (I really love this one)

Tea Rose - I'm not 100% sure if I would wear this one it is not the greatest with my skin tone

Strawberry Milk - I really like this one I think its perfect for summer because it is so light

Fig - I quite like this one it would be perfect for going out

Wet N Wild Eyeshadow Palettes

These are the Wet N Wild Trio Palettes from the Dream Weavers Limited Edition Collection

I bought this trio palette because I thought these would be really nice together for an evening look

I bought these colours for a more summery daytime look

Sorry that the swatches are blurry I was working with a different camera and it just doesn't pick up the colours as nice and isn't as focused.

I haven't had an opportunity to try them because as I said they only arrived today so I will try these out tomorrow and do a review on them asap!

Nails, Nails, Nails!

I was never really into nail polish because I wasn't allowed to wear it at work.
However now that I am finished my degree and I will be in my very own classroom next year I can have pretty nails again...Yay!

Anyway.... When I got my cherryculture haul I decided to grab two nail polishes because they were really cheap (The exact price is in the post below if you're curious) and I love them.

The brand is LA Colors and they do brights, metallics, glitters and all sorts but these two are from their color craze collection, because I loved them so much I just placed another order (while they had their 20% thanksgiving sale) for 3 more from LA Colors and I got 2 NYX nail polishes to try out as well.

For those living in New Zealand you can get this brand from the warehouse but it is cheaper to buy them off of cherryculture and you have more of a choice of colours, the warehouse is very very limited.

This was coat one (sorry for the crappy lighting but you get the idea) - The one on the left is called Goddess and the one on the right is Jewel Tone

2nd Coat

3rd and final coat  - As you can see it takes about 3 coats to get the full effect, I would recommend put a purple base under Jewel Tone because it makes it stand out more and it will make the nail polish last a lot longer because you wont be doing as many coats

This was my favourite of the two - hence why it gets its own picture. I have had it on for 4 days now and it hasn't chipped once.

Cherryculture.com Haul

I have just received my haul from cherryculture.com which I said in my last post.
I was super excited about this one!
It took about 2 weeks for it to arrive (longest 2 weeks ever).
I ordered 18 things and I got quite a deal because there was 40% all NYX products which is predominately what I bought.

I have just done a few quick swatches and photos to show you what I got, when I get some time I am going to put together a look using my new stuff.

Still waiting for my order from nonpareilboutique.com so when that comes I will definitely put some MOTD pics up!

Overall I was very happy with everything I purchased there was only one product that I can't stand.

Oh and I will state all prices in USD.

It came all neat and tidy and very packaged in a box!

This was everything I got!

So I will start with the rant that way it is out of the way! So this is Amuse Matte Lipstick in Nude Pink and it was $1.49 - Now that is really cheap but when you compare it to the NYX Round Lipsticks that are $1.99 the quality and colour is rubbish.

So this is meant to be nude pink but if you look at the swatch below it is more of brown - the swatch looks pinky but that is because I had the flash on
Ok rant over =]

Love this! It is so sparkly and shimmery its perfect for going out and it was only $5.50

The swatch didn't show up very well so I just popped it on, I haven't used any primer or lip liner this is just straight on

NYX Black Pearl Liquid Eyeliner $5.00 (I haven't tried this out, I cant remember why I bought it because I just got a new liquid eyeliner so this will probably sit in the draw for a while)

NYX Concealer Jar - Light - $5.50

NYX Lip Liners - Coral & Nude Pink - $3.50 each
Sorry this swatch is quite blurry.

NYX Liquid Crystal Liner - (Top to bottom) Crystal Onxy, Cyrstal Hip & Crystal Champagne - $4.50 each
(Left to right) Crystal Onxy, Cyrstal Hip & Crystal Champagne

LA Colors Craze Nail Polish - Goddess & Jewel Tone - $1.50 each. I truly wish I had got more colours, these are amazing I am going to give these a review of their own.

NYX Black Label Lipstick - India & Citrine - $ 7.50 each (I have already determined the next 4 colours I am getting in this range, I truly love these)

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils - Rocky Mountain Green, Milk & Black Bean - $4.50 each

(Left to right) - Milk, Black Bean & Rocky Mountain Green

LA Colors Jumbo Eye Pencil - Cherry Blossom & Sunkissed - $1.50 each

Cherry Blossom & Sunkissed - Based upon the swatches alone there doesn't appear to be any real difference between the NYX jumbo eye pencils and the LA Colors jumbo eye pencils. I haven't had a chance to try them all out though so I may need to do a review on both when I have.

I have just stated what the prices would normally be, don't forget I did get 40% off so all of this cost me about NZD $80 from memory. I really did get a bargain.

Ebay Jewellery Haul

So my Ebay Jewellery Haul and my Cherryculture.com have literally both just arrived!
I was super excited to open my jewellery because I had spent about $40 on 12 pieces of jewellery, so I felt like I was getting such a bargain!
Unfortunately that's about where my excitement ends, I don't really like to bash products, if I don't like something I generally just wont comment but I thought I should share my international ebay experience with you all.

Well.... I bought the products after seeing Shaaanxo do a review on their products. The shop is Hellopy2011 and their jewellery is so cool. It all looks fun and amazing, the bonus was it came from Hong Kong and it was free shipping on every item and it only took 6 days from purchase to get from Hong Kong to New Zealand. It was all bubbled wrapped and packaged really great but scroll down and I'll make a comment on each of the items.

I really like these earrings! Not sure where I will ever where them but they are super fun and sparkly.

This ring is sooooo tiny. I kind of knew it would be looking at the measurements but I swear it is smaller than they state.

This is ring is much better because it is adjustable.
This looked amazing when I first pulled them out of the packaging

Once I put them on I realized how heavy they were, they hang really low and after I took them off I noticed the bit you put into your ear was loose and about to break =[

My biggest issue with all the necklaces was their length and how flimsy their chains were, I am honestly too scared to wear half of them because I am worried they are going to snap
.

This was super cute but again it is super super short. I'm not sure if it is wearable at this length

This was such a huge disappointment. I really loved how it was pictured on their site (see picture below) and it is so short it doesn't even reach my boobs. I should have read the measurements and checked it against my other necklaces but I still don't understand how you can advertise one product and sell another.

Lies!!
Again this was not what I ordered, the colouring of the one I ordered (pictured below) is obviously not what I got.
Another lie....

Too short, chain is so flimsy

Too short

To short

Octopus is tiny compared to the one pictured on their site.

AND THIS DIDN'T EVEN ARRIVE. This was the the piece of jewellery I wanted the most and it was left out. I have contacted them but we will see what they say.

Overall I am super disappointed with what I received and I wouldn't buy from them again.
Good thing my sister is 13 because she will probably be given most of this.
